In the 5th century AD Hermias of Alexandria, a pupil of the Athenian Academy, wrote a commentary on Plato’s dialogue Phaidros. The commentary concentrateson the explanation of metaphysical contexts, and so illuminates the ideas and theories of the Neoplatonist school. This volume replaces the only previous critical edition (P. Couvreur, 1901), and includes comprehensive indices.
