The New Atlantis

Francis Bacon was an English philosopher, statesman, and scientist. Bacon served as Attorney General and Lord Chancellor of England and his works have remained influential overtime as his ideas helped lead to the scientific revolution. Bacon has often been referred to as the father of empiricism. New Atlantis is a short utopian novel published in 1627. The book is noted for Bacon's vision of the future regarding human knowledge as he hoped it would be.
