The Scarlet Pimpernel

Set during the tumultuous Reign of Terror in France, the story follows a secretive group of English aristocrats led by the enigmatic Scarlet Pimpernel, who risk their lives to rescue condemned French aristocrats from execution. As the republican mob grows increasingly violent, the Pimpernel's daring escapades become legendary. French agent Chauvelin is determined to uncover the Pimpernel's identity and enlists the help of Marguerite, the intelligent wife of the seemingly frivolous Sir Percy Blakeney, creating a web of intrigue and deception.
