Compound Fracture

The story follows Miles Abernathy, a sixteen-year-old trans boy from West Virginia, who uncovers evidence linking Sheriff Davies to a long-standing blood feud. On the night he comes out to his parents, he attends a party with crucial photos that could challenge the sheriff’s power, rooted in a century-old miners' rebellion. After being brutally attacked by the sheriff's son, Miles faces threats and a haunting presence in the hospital. As he grapples with the consequences of an accidental death, he discovers allies willing to fight against the sheriff's tyranny, raising the stakes for his family and community.
