In 1946 Russia, Stalin gathers top Soviet sci-fi authors to create a convincing alien invasion story to unify the nation against an impending American defeat. After months of work, they are ordered to abandon the project. Years later, following Chernobyl, they reunite as their fictional tale begins to manifest in reality.
