Ian Watson's diverse career spans literature, teaching, and film, beginning with a focus on 19th Century French literature at Oxford. He has taught in various countries and transitioned to full-time writing in 1976, producing around 30 novels and 11 story collections, primarily in science fiction. His collaboration with Stanley Kubrick led to a credit in A.I. Artificial Intelligence. Watson also co-authored a unique cookbook and a collection of transgressive stories with Italian surrealist Roberto Quaglia, showcasing his eclectic interests and talents.
