The Ghost Kings

Set against the backdrop of the Zulu kingdom during Dingaan's reign, the story revolves around a white girl believed to embody the spirit of a legendary goddess. Renowned for her beauty, bravery, and influence, she was known as Zoola, or Heaven. After her missionary parents were killed by Dingaan out of jealousy, she descended into madness and cursed the Zulu nation. This curse is thought to explain the subsequent downfall of Dingaan and the Zulu's misfortunes during the tumultuous period leading up to the Battle of Blood River.
