More about the book

Eugene Field's life was marked by personal tragedy, losing both parents early on, which shaped his character and career. Initially a prankster, he found his calling in journalism, where his light, humorous articles gained popularity and were syndicated nationwide. His literary contributions began with poetry in 1879 and expanded to numerous volumes and short stories. Notably, while recovering in London, he penned his famous poem "Lovers Lane." Field's untimely death at 45 left a lasting legacy in American literature.
