David Axelrod is a distinguished poet and essayist known for his five poetry collections, including award-winning works like The Cartographer's Melancholy. In addition to his writing, he co-edits basalt: a journal of fine & literary arts with his wife, Jodi Varon. Axelrod has been teaching literature and creative writing at Eastern Oregon University since 1988, contributing significantly to the literary landscape of the region.
