Tove Jansson Biography

Tove Jansson was an artist and author who created worlds comparable to fine art. Her literary output, originally written in Swedish, reflects her unique position within the Finnish-Swedish minority. Driven by a desire for innocence during the bleakness of World War II, Jansson first penned the beloved Moomin stories, which she also illustrated. Beyond the extensive Moomin series, she produced a quartet of original, captivating picture books, earning global acclaim for her imaginative creations.
