Focusing on the theme of precarity, this study critically examines the UK labour force, challenging the notion of increasing instability in employment. It argues against the prevalent belief that temporary work is on the rise, revealing instead that employment tenure and the level of temporary jobs have remained surprisingly stable over the past forty years. This analysis contributes to a deeper understanding of the dynamics of work and the labour movement, offering a fresh perspective on the current discourse surrounding employment conditions.
