John Selden

    December 16, 1584 – November 30, 1654

    John Selden was an English jurist and a scholar of ancient English laws, the constitution, and Jewish law. Renowned as a polymath, he displayed remarkable intellectual depth and breadth. His contemporary, John Milton, lauded him in 1644 as the foremost learned man in England.
