This is an arrangement for 2 trumpets, organ and optional timpani. This would make an great opener on a concert. Originally for 2 trumpets, choir, and strings, the organ really helps to create a terrific new sound.

Eighth Note Publications Flexible Band/String Series is the ultimate in flexibility with non standard instrumentation for ensembles with incomplete instrumentation or odd combinations. These pieces are playable by as few as 5 woodwind, brass or string players with or without percussion. This creates the opportunity for a mixed quintet to perform these titles but also allows for performance for 10-15 players up to full a band/orchestra with parts doubling. Great for music camps, contest use or any band room that has non standard instrumentation. This is one of Handel's best known melodies. This version of the famous Hail the Conquering Hero opens with a solo, gradually adds voices and builds in dynamic, then the sound drops to a duet which starts the building again. Everyone gets a section of melody making it interesting for all. (3:10)

The savage T-Rex, the lumbering huge four-legged sauropods and the gliding flying pteraosaurs are the characters in this fun piece for very young band. The sauropods open this piece and, at over 100 feet long and 100 tons, they are heavy and plodding. The pterosaur (which means winged lizard) floats effortlessly through the air getting a great view of the carnivores as they stalk their prey with their powerful and sudden attacks. Welcome to the Age of the Dinosaur. (1:35)

This piece contains two distinctively different themes---a traditional European folk song sounding melody and a Japanese inspired one. Each melody is introduced on its own, then they are combined---with both themes playing simultaneously! This creates a very effective and beautiful sonority. This piece was written to celebrate the twinning of two cities---one in Canada and the other in Japan. (2:25)
