When millions of locusts decimate the harvest, the residents of a village have no choice but to take to banditry to survive. Much as they believe this is a temporary measure and their wives will faithfully await their return, the dozen-strong gang soon finds itself on a slippery slope leading to pillaging, murder and sadism.
