Ernest Howard Shepard was an English artist and book illustrator. He was especially known for his human-like animals in illustrations for The Wind in the Willows by Kenneth Grahame and Winnie-the-Pooh by A. A. Milne.

In 1926, the world was introduced to a portly little bear named Winnie-the-Pooh. Along with his young friend, Christopher Robin, Pooh delighted readers from the very beginning. His often befuddled perceptions and adorable insights won the hearts of everyone around him, including his close group of friends. From the energetic Tigger to the dismal Eeyore, A. A. Milne created a charming bunch, both entertaining and inspirational. These simple creatures often reflected a small piece of all of us: humble, silly, wise, cautious, creative, and full of life. Remember when Piglet did a very grand thing, or Eeyore's almost-forgotten birthday? Gorgeous watercolor illustrations from Ernest H. Shepard appear in all their glory. With beautiful colors and simple lines, these images hold their own as classics. The tales, filled with superb story lines and lessons, will continue to capture the hearts of new generations.
For over seventy years, children and adults have been charmed by the wit and whimsy of Winnie-the-Pooh. Whether he's using a balloon to get honey from some bees, discovering the North Pole, or trying to find breakfast for Tigger, the Bear of Little Brain always succeeds in endearing himself to his many fans.
Happy 90th birthday, to one of the world's most beloved icons of children's literature, Winnie-the-Pooh! Since 1926, Winnie-the-Pooh and his friends—Piglet, Owl, Tigger, and the ever doleful Eeyore—have endured as the unforgettable creations of A.A. Milne, who wrote this book for his son, Christopher Robin, and Ernest H. Shepard, who lovingly gave Pooh and his companions shape. These characters and their stories are timeless treasures of childhood that continue to speak to all of us with the kind of freshness and heart that distinguishes true storytelling.
Pooh always liked a little something in the morning at eleven o'clock in the morning, and he was very glad to see Rabbit getting out the plates and mugs.

Blackstone Audio presents, from the unabridged collection “A.A. Milne’s Pooh Classics,” the forty-four poems from When We Were Very Young and the thirty-five poems of Now We Are Six, performed by Peter Dennis. Now We Are Six followed, becoming a modern classic in its own right. For sheer delightfulness, the children’s rhymes of A.A. Milne are in a class by themselves with their charm, humor, understanding, and irresistible rhythms.

Pooh's Way of doing things seems strangely close to the ancient principle of Taoist philosophy, while Piglet exhibits the very important principle in Taoism of the Te, meaning Virtue of the Small. The author's explanations of Taoism and Te through Pooh and Piglet show that this is not an ancient and remote philosophy but something that you can use, here and now.
