During the 2020 pandemic, the famous Keiichi Tanaami, known for his monstrous, psychedelic, and kaleidoscopic works often inspired by war and his childhood memories, found himself in total boredom. It was Picasso who pulled him out of it. Unable to return to work, Tanaami turned to one of Picasso's paintings that he admires, "Mother and Child," and created a reinterpretation of it. Then, exploring the process he had just discovered, he developed over 400 versions, focusing on each new canvas while repeating what he remembered from the previous one, thus creating a sequence similar to a "game of Chinese whispers."
