Shannon has been writing since childhood, completing her first novel at fifteen. During a long wait for her first book contract, she dedicated herself to family and education, all while continually revising her early works and finishing others. Her writing, often delving into local history and influenced by her life in North Dakota, explores regional narratives with meticulous care. When not cooking, researching, or crafting stories, she enjoys the outdoors and the beauty of the northern prairies.
