Henry Mackenzie

    Henry Mackenzie was a Scottish lawyer and writer, known by the sobriquet "Addison of the North." Although primarily remembered as an author today, his principal income derived from legal roles. A well-paid position as Comptroller of Taxes for Scotland ultimately allowed him to indulge his passion for writing.
