Albert Wendland's lifelong fascination with science fiction was ignited by early interests in astronomy and comic books. His academic journey, initially focused on physics and astronomy, soon broadened to include English literature, reflecting a dual passion for both scientific inquiry and creative expression. At Seton Hill University, he cultivated a rich academic career, teaching and writing extensively on diverse literary topics including Romanticism, the sublime, the graphic novel, and science fiction itself. Driven by a desire to nurture genre fiction, he co-founded a unique MFA program dedicated to popular fiction, which ultimately inspired his return to writing science fiction novels.
