Trevor D. Rhone

    Trevor Rhone was a significant Jamaican writer and playwright, instrumental in the renaissance of Jamaican theatre in the early 1970s. After studying at an English drama school, he began his theatre career and co-founded Theatre '77, which established The Barn in Kingston to stage local performances and foster professional theatre on the island. Rhone's impact extended beyond the stage with his screenplay for the influential film The Harder They Come, which was key in popularizing reggae music internationally.
