Khotanese, an Iranian language from the first millennium CE, features rich literature like the Book of Zambasta, a 24-chapter poem on Mahāyāna Buddhism. This work presents a new analysis of its metre, arguing for a quantitative (moraic) basis with specific ictus patterns, while addressing Khotanese accentuation and language history. The complete poem text is included.
