The research focuses on microzonation, a method for assessing seismic hazards by considering local site conditions. It presents a microzonation map of Kathmandu Valley, emphasizing the impact of thick lacustrine deposits on ground motion amplification. The study highlights the importance of accurate seismic ground response modeling, which relies on detailed geological and geotechnical data. Due to limited borehole data, the analysis was conducted using assumptions for geotechnical parameters, based on profiles from 14 boreholes across the valley.
