Sindbad, mit richtigem Namen Friedrich Schwickert (1857-1930), war ein astrologischer Forscher und Schriftsteller, der viele Jahre im Dienste der Marine als Fregattenkapitän tätig war und schon in jungen Jahren Reisen nach Asien und Indien unternahm. Seine hier abgedruckte und vielbeachte Einweihungsschrift "Das Lebenselixier in Bulwers Romanen und in den Schriften wahrer Adepten" erschien 1923 im Verlag von Max Altmann in Leipzig.
