During the summer of 1915, a large family in East Texas experiences pain and pleasure with their guardian angels watching nearby. The family farm and sorghum syrup business require a lot of time and risks. But through it all, the God-fearing parents, Joseph and Sophie Schwartz instill in their fourteen children high moral values. This respectability can still be witnessed in the descendants of the fourteen children.
