Dr. Ben Boucher wrote It's Not Just Ticks, It's Not Just Lyme to provide the general public as well as healthcare practitioners with insights into assessing and treating possible Lyme and related infections. Dedicated education of these infections and treating over 200 cases over seven years provided these insights.Most importantly, his research indicated that Cat Scratch Disease is likely more prevalent than Lyme disease; that his treatment approach was effective; and that brain MRI's are helpful in diagnosis.Advocacy activities included presentations to interested groups; as a Canadian representative on an international ad hoc committee to the WHO in Geneva; and a presentation to the Canadian House of Commons standing committee on health.
