      Dr. D.F. Arnold, a Cleveland native, is an author, consultant, and motivational speaker who trains diverse groups, including professional athletes and executives, in leadership and motivation across the U.S. With a Ph.D. in Educational Administration from Washington State University, he comprehends both success and failure, motivating others to achieve their dreams. After being expelled from two high schools and graduating from a continuation school, he emphasizes that "It's not how you start, but how you finish that counts." He works with the NFL's Rookie Transition Program and has facilitated NCAA leadership conferences, contributing to discussions on public school issues. Sharalle Arnold, M.Ed., has dedicated years to advocating for young children, women, and families, amplifying the voices of those often unheard. A California native, she has lived in Michigan for over 15 years, working in higher education while raising her family. Before joining the GVSU Center for Women & Gender Equity, she led the GVSU Children's Enrichment Center for over a decade. Her research focuses on the experiences of African/Black females in leadership at predominantly white institutions, food insecurity on campus, and the success of pregnant and parenting college students. She has co-authored several books, including her latest work on women's and gender equity centers in higher education.
