Each of these thirty-three stories is complete in itself; however, taken as a whole, they narrate Achille's journey to establish intimacy with the fair sex. In other words, it is about his coming of age with regard to his relationship with women. The conflict about Achille occurs when he fails to rise to the moment, due to the fact that he is immature, inexperienced, or insecure. Yet, despite these shortcomings, he obstinately pushes on towards the goal of his journey.
