The arduous 200 light year journey from a destroyed Earth is over, and Captain Nick Johns, along with the crew of the spaceship Genesis, must establish a colony on their new world, Genesis Prime. However, this planet is already inhabited by three sentient races, including humans who were transplanted from Earth in the 3rd Century BC by aliens for slave labor. Captain Johns and his crew liberate these enslaved humans, who still live in a 3rd Century culture and view the crew as Olympian gods, believing Captain Johns to be Zeus. During the liberation, they capture advanced alien technology, including a Plasma Bubble that can transport matter through time and space. They befriend some remaining aliens and use this technology to rescue the last few of their kind from near extinction. However, this act attracts the attention of the aliens’ adversaries, who wage genocide against them. As battles rage against these fierce attackers, the Genesis faces its most dangerous challenge yet: the Human Race itself. Captain Johns realizes that humans are inherently self-destructive and cannot be trusted to govern themselves. The most difficult battles arise from within humanity, revealing its treachery and the struggle for survival amidst chaos.
