Take Heed and Beware of Leaven
Until and Unless the Church Turns from Her Wicked Ways
    • There is much consternation about the inability of the Church to deal with the challenges around the world today, especially as she has boasted of the power of Jesus to resolve life's challenges. Christians have said many prayers in many parts of the world, and a popular Scripture verse during such times of prayer is 2 Chronicles 7:14. A close look at the passage of Scripture as documented in the Bible compared to how it is quoted by most of the people leading prayers reveals a clear misrepresentation of the word of God. This misrepresentation of Scripture has been largely responsible for the apparent impotence of the Church to pray to God and obtain the results required. The title of this book, a direct message from God to the Church, seeks to let the Church know what she has been doing wrong. A question that arises is, "Can the Church, a representative of God on the earth, do wrong?" Sadly, the answer is, "Yes!" This book examines how the Church, a body comprising of people called by God, has acted contrary to God's word on many fronts. It challenges the Church to change her ways; else, her praying will be in vain. We cannot continue to engage in iniquity and expect God to answer our prayers. Christians would, therefore, take heed and do well to make the necessary amends so that God can once again show His power through the Church. It is hoped that this book will awaken Christians to understand the conditionalities in God's word and fulfil them so that God can do what He has promised once those conditions have been met.

Take Heed and Beware of Leaven is Jesus' warning to Christians everywhere and in every generation, as He had previously warned His disciples while He was here on the earth. He had told them to take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, Sadducees, and the Herodians. In this book, we examine the significance and relevance of Jesus' warning to His disciples as it relates to the church as a whole and the Christian in particular. This book relates Jesus' warning then, to current realities and the need for Christians to be watchful and mindful of the many ministers who seem to be emerging from everywhere and peddling what they claim to be the gospel of Jesus. To this end, the author looks at what constitutes doctrine and its corruption. The author also discusses the very pressing issue of spiritual/church leaders and hypocrisy and the need for sanctification, a subject that has largely been forgotten in the church today. The author ends his discourse by using the satirical story of Goatee, the goat that loved to eat grass and how its owner tried to get it to stop eating grass. This satirical story illustrates how Christians and pastors have missed the very essence of changing lives through the gospel and how they may get back on track. We hope you will be edified and energised after reading this book to walk as the Lord expects and avoid the many strange doctrines permeating every sphere of living today.
