Peter Schneider Series
January 1, 1937
Peter Schneider is a German novelist whose work frequently examines the fates of his generation and the situation in Berlin before and after German reunification. His early writings, such as the novel Lenz, became cult texts for the Left, capturing the feelings of disappointment from failed utopian revolts. Schneider is also a major essayist; having moved away from the radicalism of the 1960s, his work now appears predominantly in mainstream publications. Through his novels, short stories, and film scripts, he explores complex societal and personal transformations.
