Geronimo
June 16, 1829 – February 17, 1909
Geronimo, a respected leader and medicine man of the Chiricahua Apache, led his people in prolonged resistance against American and Mexican expansion. His strategies and leadership during raids and military engagements shaped a crucial period of the Apache-United States conflict. Though not a formal chief, his ability to gather and command men in battle earned him significant influence. Geronimo's later years were marked by captivity, even as he became a celebrated figure appearing at public events.
