HAMLET: Hamlet je tragédie o dánském královském rodu, kde po smrti krále Dánska jeho ovdovělá žena, Královna, provdá se za králova bratra Claudia, nyní Krále. Příběh začíná dva měsíce po králově smrti, kdy Horacio, jeden z nejvěrnějších služebníků, přivolá Hamleta na cimbuří, kde stráž viděla ducha, jenž vypadá jako bývalý král. Hamlet se dozvídá, že Claudius jeho otce zabil tím, že mu nakapal jed do ucha ve spánku. Hamlet slibuje pomstu za otcovu smrt. Hra ukazuje, jak touha po moci nezná mezí; ušlechtilí zabíjejí, poddaní se klaní a čest či ctnost jsou výsadami hrdinů. KRÁL LEAR: Král Lear je jednou z největších Shakespearových tragédií, kde se drama lidského údělu odehrává na obrovských pláních země i nebe. Hra je konkrétní, s důrazem na fyzické detaily, a zároveň univerzální, zkoumá svět otřásající se v základech. V srdci této tragédie je obraz poutníka a cesty; Lear putuje ze svého sídla do Doveru, ale jeho cesta má hlubší význam. Putuje od svých dcer Regan a Goneril k Kordelii, od pýchy k pokoře, od autoritářství k soucitu a od koruny, symbolu moci, k odpuštění.
