Kashtanka, a young foxey-looking mongrel, belonging to a carpenter drunkard named Luka Alexandrovich gets lost through her own 'improper behaviour', frightened by a military band on the street. I must shoot myself!'"), she huddles up by the entrance to some unfamiliar house.
