Deposit layer formation is a major drawback for crossflow microfiltration processes. The application of pulsatile and alternating crossflow to improve filtration performance has been previously described. However, the lack of mechanistic understanding impedes industrial implementation. Thus, this thesis investigates the fouling mitigation mechanisms of pulsatile and alternating crossflow at different process conditions and links its effectiveness to deposit layer properties. Deckschichtbildung ist ein Nachteil von Querstrom-Mikrofiltrationsprozessen. Die Anwendung pulsierender und alternierender Überströmung zur Verbesserung der Filtrationsperformance wurde bereits gezeigt. Der Mangel an mechanistischem Verständnis behindert jedoch deren industrielle Umsetzung. Daher beschäftigt sich diese Arbeit mit den Mechanismen der Foulingreduktion bei Anwendung pulsierender und alternierender Überströmung bei variierenden Prozessbedingungen und verdeutlicht die Rolle der Deckschichteigenschaften für die Effizienz dieser Technologie.
