This book, Volume 8 of the Shurangama Sutra gives detailed commentary on Chapter 10 of the Sutra (ISBN 088139-940-x). Here the Buddha describes subtle demonic states that may arise during the cultivation of Samadhi and the break-down of the five skandhas of form, feeling, thinking, formation and consciousness. In total the Buddha describes in detail fifty of these states and warns those that meditate to remain unattached and unconfused so that they may reach enlightenment.
