The letters and postcards are works of art in themselves and readers must actually remove the letters from elaborately decorated envelopes. First published in the USA by Chronicle Books (1991). The first of a trilogy, the other volumes being TSabine's Notebook' (1992) and TThe Golden Mean' (1993).
