Typee

Set against the backdrop of the Marquesas Islands, the story follows Tommo, who escapes the brutal conditions aboard the whaling ship The Dolly. Alongside Toby, they seek refuge on Nukuheva, relying on the island's natural resources. Tommo's experience is shaped by his interactions with Kory-Kory, who cares for him, and his growing acceptance of the Typee lifestyle. However, he grapples with unsettling discoveries about the local customs, including cannibalism, and struggles with the desire for freedom amidst the complexities of island life.
