Yesterday, the Star Kingdom of Manticore was a small, unimportant interstellar backwater, recently recovering from the Plague Years. Affluent yet lacking in trade appeal, it had little need for a navy and even less interest in funding one. However, Manticore has now become a target, facing an unknown aggressor. They are dispatched to the Andermani Empire, home to one of the galaxy's most formidable navies. Yet, upon arrival, they find the Andermani embroiled in civil war following the Emperor's death, complicating their mission. Caught in the midst of turmoil, Travis, Lisa, and Gavin must navigate these challenges and ensure their survival before they can achieve their goals.
