When the Chinese Air Force attempts to shoot down a heavily modified American B-52 surveillance aircraft over the South China Sea, the US military, and specifically the newly created Space Ops, begin developing the next space-based defense technology to thwart the threat of further attack. Particle accelerator technology becomes space-based, successfully disrupting the trajectories of intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs) tested from hardened silos in Alaska toward two major US cities, simulating a nuclear first strike from a foreign power. The Newton Project harnesses elusive creation particles, the dark matter energy powering our expanding universe. However, before the next test happens, the project unwittingly targets a commercial airliner with unimaginable results. Can Space Ops save the plane?
