More about the book
Over seven years, 16 performers spread 'Lecture For Every One' across Europe, intervening in over 300 diverse gatherings, from corporate meetings to brass-band rehearsals and municipal councils. Acting as uninvited guests, they delivered the same text to all audiences. Until now, this project has remained largely unnoticed by the public. This book illuminates the information and insights generated by 'Lecture For Every One,' featuring feedback, stories, and memories from various perspectives. It examines how gathering places can serve as political arenas, the (im)possibility of addressing everyone, and the significance of fiction in everyday life. Sarah Vanhee, an artist, performer, and writer, is known for her interdisciplinary work that bridges civilian spaces and the institutional arts sector, characterized by radical gestures and engagement with marginalized voices. Since 2007, she has created numerous performances, public interventions, and site-specific works presented internationally. The book includes contributions from a diverse array of voices, including Adinda Van Geystelen, Anabela Almeida, and many others, reflecting a rich tapestry of perspectives on the project's impact and significance.
