More about the book
The book is organized into three parts. The first part outlines a research and execution plan, detailing the inspiration behind our scientific curiosity and the development of a strategic simulation game aimed at stabilizing armed conflict. It describes the stages of idea formation and initial testing, followed by an overview of the theoretical background that informed our work. This section also includes a historical account of Mali, which served as a practical case study to validate our theoretical solutions. The second part is the most extensive, presenting the outcomes of our individual research efforts that synthesize the theoretical foundations relevant to the strategic game. It breaks down the theoretical background into specific areas, each addressed in separate studies focusing on the political, military, economic, and social dimensions of the peace process. Additionally, it emphasizes the significance of information and infrastructure in state reconstruction. The third part serves as a framework that connects the theoretical analyses with the strategic game. It discusses the practical application of the theory, the results of the games, and reflections on participant behavior. We aim to formulate emerging sub-questions that may evolve into research inquiries, exploring how the game can clarify uncertainties identified during our theoretical exploration. The book and game are regarded as an open project.
