Inez Haynes Irwin was a prominent American feminist author and journalist, known for her extensive involvement in the suffragist movement and her leadership roles, including president of the Authors Guild. Writing over 40 books under her former name, Inez Haynes Gillmore, she was recognized for her bold personality, despite her self-proclaimed timidity. A close friend of fellow feminist Mary MacLane, Irwin's life and work reflect the complexities of women's rights activism in the early 20th century.
