More about the book
Ecological functions of bats are highlighted in this study, which investigates species composition across different altitudinal ranges in Pico San Juan, Cuba. Conducted over three nights in September 2018, the research identified eleven bat species across three altitudes (600 m, 800 m, 1100 m) using mist nets. This study reveals that altitudinal gradients significantly affect species richness, with insectivores being the most represented group. The findings contribute valuable insights into the chiropterofauna of Cuba and the ecological dynamics of the region.
