More about the book
Richard Horatio Edgar Wallace was a prolific English writer whose career began after he served as a war correspondent during the Second Boer War. Struggling financially, he turned to writing thrillers, achieving success with works like The Four Just Men and Sanders of the River, which drew from his experiences as a reporter. In 1931, he transitioned to Hollywood to work as a scriptwriter, notably contributing to King Kong before his sudden death from undiagnosed diabetes. His extensive output led to claims that he authored a quarter of all books in England.
