More about the book
Set in 1893 Philadelphia, a fourteen-year-old boy named Casey Watkins seeks to escape his mundane life by joining Adam Forepaugh's Circus with his family. Excited to join "The Flying Eugenes" as a trapeze artist, he faces the challenge of mastering the act before the World's Fair in Chicago. There, he becomes captivated by the charismatic evangelist D. L. Moody, who draws crowds in the circus Big Top. After a life-altering accident leaves Casey paralyzed with fear, he turns to Moody for guidance, questioning whether he can overcome his fears and fulfill his role in the circus.
