The Art of Dumpster Diving

The story follows sixteen-year-old James and his younger brother Danny as they navigate a devastating family crisis in Crystal Springs, Louisiana. After the death of their mother and the disappearance of their cousin Lila, the boys are left to fend for themselves. With the help of their friend Gabriel, they attempt to maintain a façade of normalcy by enlisting a woman named Lucetta to impersonate their mother. As their situation spirals out of control, James and Danny discover resilience and forge a new family rooted in hope and survival amidst hardship.
