More about the book
Born into a wealthy family, John Galsworthy pursued law before turning to literature, influenced by friendships with notable figures like Joseph Conrad. His long-term affair with Ada Nemesis Pearson Cooper culminated in marriage after her divorce. Galsworthy's literary career began with short stories, but he gained prominence with plays and novels, particularly "The Forsyte Saga," which critiques upper-middle-class society. A social reform advocate, he addressed issues like women's rights and censorship. He was awarded the Nobel Prize in 1932, passing away in 1933.
