Born in 1970 in Syracuse, New York, Carrie Chang has cultivated a diverse educational background with degrees from Stanford, UC-Berkeley, and NYU in English, journalism, and creative writing. With nearly a decade of experience as an Asian American journalist, she founded her own magazine, "Monolid." Now residing in the Bay Area, she focuses on her writing and poetry, while enjoying swimming and painting in her leisure time.
