More about the book
This study investigates the effectiveness of various seawater desalination systems utilizing the bacteria Pseudomonas stutzeri, supported by bamboo (Bambusa tuldoides) due to its starch content. Nine reactors were designed with differing bacterial concentrations, oxygen levels, hydraulic retention times, and water volumes. Water samples were sourced from the coast of Campeche, Florianópolis, Brazil, and key parameters such as electrical conductivity, pH, apparent color, turbidity, and chlorides were analyzed at the Water Potabilization Laboratory of the Federal University of Santa Catarina.
