A Painting in Provence

Set against the backdrop of Provence in August 1944, a noble family hides a Jewish boy named David from Nazi occupiers. Tragedy strikes as the family is murdered by a member of the Vichy militia, leaving David to survive and seek refuge in a monastery. Years later, he returns to Provence but is killed under mysterious circumstances. An Australian journalist, Tony Britt, investigates David's death, exploring the region's history of Jewish persecution and the beauty of Provence, intertwined with themes of love and loss inspired by Petrarch.
